Michta-Coffey all smiles after a 2nd place finish. About the race she says, "It’s always great to be able to race and finish on the podium but my time was horribly slow and I missed qualifying for Tokyo based on world ranking. Sadly, it was not the fairytale ending I had hoped for and believed in. The past 12months had a lot of challenges and in the end I overcame so much but still fell short of qualifying for Tokyo. I so desperately want to “take my Dad with me“ to Tokyo, but it was not in the cards this time. I know I gave my all both in the race today and in my preparation to make it here today and for that I am proud."
However, exhaustion caught up with her shortly after.
