The junior race was impressive, but there weren't many lead changes. Ashleigh Resch, from Australia, took the lead out averaging just under 1:55 per lap and slowly pulled away from Anali Cisneros and Amberly Melendez. All three juniors walked impressive times with both Resch and Cisneros ahead of all of the high school finishers.
