Welcome to USA FIT Austin Walking! We are a group of training partners and friends preparing together for various 5Ks, 10Ks, half and full marathons. Even if you’ve never fitness walked before, training with our group will help you conquer mental and physical barriers you never thought possible. It happens all the time.

We start wherever you are. Couch potato? Seasoned walker or former runner? Great. No matter what your conditioning or pace, there will be others to train with. The training program you select, our coaches will help you achieve your personal best in a non-intimidating, fun, and safe environment.

As a member of USA FIT Austin Walking traditional programs, you’ll receive:

  • Ability-based Saturday morning group walks;
  • Daily training schedules to keep you progressing during the week;
  • Encouragement and expertise from trained coaches;
  • Weekly informational seminars on walking-related topics;
  • Camaraderie and social events;
  • A USA FIT Austin Walking technical T-shirt.

We have three walking programs to meet your ability level:

  • Traditional Half/Full Marathon Walking Program: 3 seasons (Spring and Summer, 17 weeks; Fall - 22 weeks)
  • Art of Fitness Beginner Program - 8 weeks, interval-based, smaller group setting to allow more personal one on one time with the coaches. The goal is to help you develop the fitness walking skills to get you to the finish line of a 5K or 10K race and advance to the full or half traditional training program.
  • True Beginner Program - 10 weeks, usually partners with a local race offering interval, core focus fitness walking training finishing with the completion of the focus race.

All three traditional season training programs offer a walk/run 3-minute walk with 1-minute run pace group, allowing beginners interested in transferring to the Austin Fit running program a comfortable training home. Most of our walk/run pace group members stay with the walking program, but we are here met all your training needs. USA Fit Austin does not leave behind any athlete.
