Drahotova continued to look smooth through 10K. She managed just a 1 second lead (45:20) over Rigaudo (45:21)and the two continued to pace a few seconds ahead of oncoming Russians. Both dropped the pace by almost a minute from the first 5K to the second.
The main pack came through nextabout 17 seconds off the leaders.
Off the pack, Kristina Saltanovic from Lithuania came through in 45:55.
Erin Gray picked up the pace as well 46:33.
Without a doubt the favoriate part of the course was the brief relief recieved from the misters.
Blink and the Russians transported themselves into the lead pack. The race was on and I was hoping the judges wouldn't decide the results as in the men's race.
