So much can be said for today's race. Five men clearly came to give everything they had to make the Olympic team. Sadly, since two or more American's do not have an A standard only John Nunn is qualified to compete in the London Games. Sure it is possible that Seamand and Shorey walk A Standard 50K's and displace Nunn, but that is highly unlikely.
Our thoughts will now turn to the 20K trials. Can Nunn repeat his victory and beat the young, impressive Trevor Barror? Will Barron and Nunn both walk A Standards, thus allowing us to send two athletes in an event? It is something we didn't do in 2008. If John qualifies in the 20K, will he try to double or allow Seaman to take the 50K spot? So many questions. It is indeed an exciting year for American race walking.
