2009 IAAF World Championships - 50km Men's Race Walk

The top two spots went as predicted with Sergey Kirdyapkin capturing the gold in 3:38:35 and Trond Nymark getting the silver in 3:41:16. The surprise of the day was Jesus Angel Garcia who even surprised himself. Upon congratulated Nymark for a medal he was unaware that he earned one himself. His joy was clearly visible with a seemingly endless source of energy after the race. All racers did not share his wealth of energy resource as they collapsed upon crossing the finish line.
