By 10K the lead pack swallowed Yamazaki and Adams and formed a group of ten walkers seperated by no more than two seconds. The leader became Adams (44:34 with a 22:23 second 5K) in lockstep with Nizhegorodov, while at the back of the pack was Trond Nymark. Goes to show, that it's almost impossible to break away early in a 50K.
