I often joke with my running firends that sooner or later they are coming to me. I mean that the years of abuse from running will beat the bodies up enough that eventually if they want to remain athlete they will learn to race walk. Whether you come from an athletc background and are looking to transition sports as you age or you have been sedentary and are looking to improve your health and fitness, race walking is the sport/event for you. Older (Masters) athletes especially find race walking appealing because:

  • Still helps prevent osteoporosis
  • Excellent competitive opportunities
